ACI EMV consultancy

These consulting packages help new issuers understand EMV and identify the strategic paths for EMV.

Strategic Business PlanningACI supports Issuers by building knowledge about EMV, providing guidance on strategic decisions associated with chip implementation and providing advice on the impact of EMV on current operations and implementation plans.

EMV awareness

Drawing on its international experience, ACI provides organizations with an understanding of what it means to move to chip. This considers the strategic business opportunity and the impacts from a technical and operational perspective.

In many organizations, technical staff has become familiar with specifications and requirements.  Strategic decision-makers (both technical and business) are less comfortable with it.  This education effort is designed to establish a common understanding throughout the organization of the requirements and opportunities related to EMV implementation.  It will also highlight key strategic aspects of an EMV implementation and draw out strategic considerations for decision-makers.

Deliverables

• One day general EMV overview
• One day EMV business aspects for business decision-makers
• One day EMV technical aspects for technical decision-makers

Strategic business planning

ACI will support business decision makers in identifying and building consensus around your overall strategy, tactics, business positioning and plan for each phase of your implementation in the next five years.

Once defined, the strategy and priorities drive downstream business direction.  Inevitably, these business decisions also draw out technical and operational decisions as well.

For example, a customer needs to map out the following in a business plan for chip implementation:
• What do you want to achieve in Phase I, a market trial, and when will it move to wider rollout of cards? What does it want the customer experience to be?
• When does “phase II” start and what does it look like? What are the triggers for moving to Phase II and future phases? Are they driven by internal capabilities, external demand or developments or both? How will you measure success in each of its phases of implementation?
• How do you want to leverage chip technology to offer new services to its customers, what services and when?  How do you wish to segment the card base?
• What global trends make sense to implement in the areas of new applications including prepay, contactless, loyalty, purse, etc., and how should this be achieved?
• In light of these future plans for phases of implementation, what does that mean for initial decisions about chip size, capability, operating system, foundation infrastructure etc.  You’re your organization be positioned to support those future phases?
• What are the operational and technical constraints associated with these business goals and can they be overcome?
